Hello Community,
As springtime ascends, this summer’s Night Turtle Dance ceremony is beginning to stir. Dance helpers are making plans, readying for the joyful days of community and ceremony ahead!
We look forward to joining with family and friends new and old, for our another year (our 16th!) of prayer, love and gratitude for the Earth.
NEW this year: Dancers are requested to arrive Friday, July 26th between 4pm-6pm.
Supporters (those not planning to dance) are strongly encouraged to arrive at that time as well, giving you and your families time to pitch tents, settle in, connect with the land, eat dinner, and greet community.
Opening Prayer will be at 6pm Friday, July 26th.
The closing prayer will be Monday morning July 29th.
We request that all who wish to dance be present for the Opening Prayer.

What is Night Turtle Dance?
The Night Turtle Dance is a ceremony of love, gratitude and praise for Mother Earth. We come together to sing and dance upon a turtle altar. We do this not for ourselves, but simply to sing and dance our prayers of love and gratitude. For this ceremony we give up a night of sleep, and we enter silence, except for the beautiful songs we sing while dancing. The altar honors Grandmother Turtle, Mother Earth, the stars, and the four elements of water, air, fire and earth.
Do children attend?
Children are joyously welcome at this altar and ceremony, with special opportunities to participate in the creation of the altar. We ask that any minor under the age of 18 be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Parents/guardians are solely responsible for their children.
Kids Camp by prior registration – At Kids Camp, special outdoor activities are provided each day, facilitated by a professional educator.
Accommodations
We’ll be near Arlington, WA. Bring your tent for camping together throughout the weekend. There will be times for working on the altar and learning the ceremony; times to relax, swim in the Stillaguamish River, and socialize; and times when you are supported to deepen into prayer. Meals are provided, with prior registration.
