Eostre Ceremony | Sunday March 21st | 10:00am PT, 1:00pm ET

This Ceremony is open to all those in The Village Green

The spring equinox is a midpoint; a tipping point into the fullness of the returned sun, warmth, and abundant growth. That flame nurtured through the winter solstice and the months of cold is now holding strong and growing. It is the magical moment when the light of day balances with the dark of night we are in the gift of a moment of balance, of equilibrium. In the vernal equinox, we are tipping into abundant growing, birthing, and rejuvenation. The winter is receding in the rearview mirror and we look now out over greening pastures, budding trees, and blooming flowers.

The name Eostre is the anglo Saxon name for this time of celebration. A time of the Green Man and the Maiden. The name carries the stories of the Goddess, the Hare, and the Eggs. These stories are shared amidst the celebrations of a returned sun. Winter safely behind the story of the Sun’s resurrection on the Southern cross (at the Winter Solstice) can now be safely celebrated. The sun is arriving back into its full, warm,  and life-sustaining cycle. So embedded into the consciousness of the ancient peoples of Northern Europe, this ceremony was adopted by the Christian faiths and is known as Easter – a direct adoption of the name of the Goddess Eostre.

At the Ceremony, I will share an old version of the tale of Eostre, “The Hare and the Egg”
